About Caroline

Caroline Tautz came to Yoga from a background in Fine Art and Contemporary Dance. She worked as a dance lecturer, and choreographer for film. She first trained as a bodyworker with Ken Eyerman in 1995, and this Feldenkrais influenced approach was a strong foundation.  In 1995 she first trained in Ashtanga vinyasa and was a student of John Scott and in India of Sri K Pattabhi Jois.

She draws from her many and varied influences and training, from the work of Feldenkrais, Alexander technique, Ashtanga vinyasa, and fascial anatomy.

In 2010 she trained in myofascial touch and release, with Alexander Filmer Lorch, applying the concept to yoga sequences that emphasise spiralling movements and variety.  She continues to integrate and develop this approach.

She trained as a somatic coach in 2014, and has integrated the Hanna floor exercises into her teaching. She is also trained in the gentle work of neuro dermo modulation. (Louise Tremblay).

Caroline travels yearly to Kadermo in Finland to practise with Stefan Engstrom, who also teaches Anatomy of Wholeness and psychosynthesis. This work of seeing the moving body in its relationship to gravity continues to enrich her teaching.

Caroline is a qualified  meditation teacher with Swami Saradananda. (2014).

Her teaching style weaves the language of embodiment and conscious awareness into a creative flowing style of practice. She is constantly integrating and exploring new information and teachings, both theoretical and practical.

Current interests are the science of Ayurveda, and the science of fascia and the nervous system. She is training in fascia and movement in the fascia foundations course with Ana Barretxeguren.

With over 25 years of teaching experience she brings a sensitive and compassionate approach, combining precise verbal cues with sensitive hands on touch. She works individually with therapeutic bodywork, as well as teaching small groups, retreats and teacher training with her colleague Lucy Crawford who has been a great inspiration.  In 2020 she will be leading further training for teachers in an exciting new programme of modules at Retreat yoga in S.E. London. She first registered with Yoga Alliance at Senior level in 2010.

Sara comes from a background in both medicine and yoga. She is a qualified Intensive Care Paediatrician with a very holistic approach to health. Since first practising yoga 10 years ago Sara has studied Dharma hatha, pranayama, kriyas and chanting, Prana flow with Shiva Rea and vinyasa flow. She has trained as a teacher in Vinyasa flow and more recently Somatic approach to yoga. She practises meditation, mindfulness, and slow Vinyasa flow. She believes this deep listening, gives space to awaken to the truth of who we really are. Sara has a passion for conscious movement and embodied dance (5 rhythms, ecstatic dance and medicine movement), and believes in the healing power of intuitive movement.

The inspiration you seek is already inside you, be silent and listen.
